14th European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Sciences (ESBES)

 was organized at the headquarters of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR Byen) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The ESBES Symposium had 245 registered participants and it was organized jointly with the Fermentation Based Manufacturing Symposium, adding 70 additional participants.

Within the Session “Novel upstream and downstream process concepts”, Dr. Patrícia Concórdio-Reis (NOVA) presented results from the EcoPlastiC project in an oral presentation:

“Upcycling of PET-based plastic waste into biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) using mixed microbial cultures” authored by Patricia Concordio-Reis (NOVA), Ana Teresa Rebocho (NOVA), Maria Nicolau Batista (NOVA), Margaret Brennan-Fournet (TUS), Cuneyt Erdinc Tas (TUS), Necdet Ozcelik (TUS), Cristiana A. 14th European Symposium on Biochemical Engineering Sciences

The first online EcoPlastiC Steering Meeting (SM) took place on March 31st 2023 where all partners presented the latest updates within each Work Package and communicated plans for the future. Regular EcoPlastiC SMs are organized every 2 months to ensure this project moves forward as planned. Representatives from all partner institutions attended the meeting:
